Ski Utah Learn To Ski Program

This program is for first-time local skiers and snowboarders only. Check-in time is 11:30 a.m. to noon and classes will meet in the Moonbeam base area from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Participants must be 7 years of age or older and the package includes a first-time lesson, lift ticket and rentals for $49 per participant. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 801-536-5730 and referring to the program title listed above.

Backcountry and Avalanche Safety hosted by Prival USA

Solitude Mountain Resort will host Prival USA and two Building Blocks courses, featuring backcountry/avalanche safety from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Moonbeam parking lot, Entry 1. Prival USA will offer complimentary demos of backcountry and avalanche safety equipment throughout the day at their tent. The two and a half hour Building Blocks courses are offered at

Avalanche Dog Demonstration

Solitude’s Avalanche Rescue dogs provide an amazing service to our guests and the surrounding community with their life saving efforts. These specialized and highly trained dogs are used for search and rescue efforts throughout the Wasatch Front. Watch and learn "mock" avalanche drills will be conducted, where Solitude's Avalanche Rescue dogs and Ski Patrol seek out people buried in the snow. Apex Express chairlift, 4:45 p.m.

Kid's Mini-downhill, hosted by Solitude's DEVO Team

Children ages 3 to 12 compete in this annual classic on the Solitude Race Course. On race day, all participants and parents will meet at the Moonbeam Lodge between 8:30 and 10 a.m. to finalize registration and receive a race bib. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Last Chance Lodge – spectators are welcome! An Olympic-style awards ceremony will be held at Last Chance Lodge at 1:30 p.m. and participants will be awarded medals and prizes. Participants must be able to ski comfortably down the Moonbeam runs. Age categories for both boys and girls include: 3 - 4 years; 5 - 6 years; 7 - 9 years; and 10 - 12 years. Please pre-register starting Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Snowsports Academy or by calling 801.536.5730.

Nordic Center's Annual Spring Fling

Solitude’s Nordic Center presents a day of Nordic ski racing, live music and food. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m. Dress in a funny outfit for a chance to win great prizes! Other contests and a schedule of events will be released in February. Receive a stamp from each station and you will be entered to win great prizes! The completed passports are due by noon and the prize drawing is at 1 p.m.
