Complimentary Tour with a Ranger Program

Meet the Rangers at the top of the Moonbeam Express chairlift at 1:30 p.m. for an informative and fun presentation on Big Cottonwood Canyon’s wildlife, history and geology, as you make your way down a beginner ski run over a 40-minute span, with approximately four stops along the way. February dates: 2/6, 2/7, 2/13, 2/14, 2/20, 2/21, 2/27, 2/28.

Avalanche Dog Demonstration

Solitude’s Avalanche Rescue dogs provide an amazing service to our guests and the surrounding community with their life saving efforts. These specialized and highly trained dogs are used for search and rescue efforts throughout the Wasatch Front. Watch and learn "mock" avalanche drills will be conducted, where Solitude's Avalanche Rescue dogs and Ski Patrol seek out people buried in the snow.

Kid’s Mini-downhill, hosted by Solitude’s DEVO Team

Children ages 3 to 12 compete in this annual classic on the Solitude Race Course. On race day, all participants and parents will meet at the Moonbeam Lodge between 8:30 and 10 a.m. to finalize registration and receive a race bib. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Last Chance Lodge – spectators are welcome! An Olympic-style awards ceremony will be held at Last Chance Lodge at 1:30 p.m. and participants will be awarded medals and prizes. Participants must be able to ski comfortably down the Moonbeam runs. Age categories for both boys and girls include: 3-4 years; 5-6 years; 7-9 years; and 10-12 years. Please pre-register starting Wednesday February 24, 2016, at the Snowsports Academy or by calling 801.536.5730.

Nordic Center’s Annual Spring Fling

Solitude’s Nordic Center presents a day of Nordic ski racing, live music and food. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m. Dress in a funny outfit for a chance to win great prizes! Other contests and a schedule of events will be released in February. If you’d like to volunteer, need more information, or would like to pre-register for a discount, please call the Nordic Center at 801.536.5774.

Solitude’s 26th Annual Chocolate Lovers’ Tour

Come celebrate chocolate with fellow chocolate lovers! Begin your day at 9 a.m. by grabbing a complimentary “Chocolate Lover’s Passport” from Club Solitude. Follow the map on your passport to find different stations on and off the mountain, where complimentary goodies are offered throughout the morning. Receive a stamp from each station and you will be entered to win great prizes! The completed passports are due by noon and the prize drawing is at 1 p.m.
