Solitude Summer Getaway Packages

Solitude Mountain Resort has announced its lineup of 2016 summer vacation packages available through Solitude Resort Lodging. Featuring the largest selection of accommodations in the Solitude Mountain Resort base area, Solitude Resort Lodging specializes in creating tailor-made, personalized trips planned by local experts. Participating properties for the summer packages include The Inn at Solitude, Creekside condominiums, Powderhorn Lodge, Eagle Springs condominiums, The Crossings townhomes and a variety of private luxury homes.

Solitude Mountain Resort Summer Operations

With the winter ski season now ended, Solitude Mountain Resort is transitioning available mountain activities over to summer operations. The resort’s dining operations begin June 9 and activities such as mountain biking, hiking, fishing, disc golf and mountain scooters will operate beginning June 17, available through October 2, 2016.

“We offer summer guests the ability to experience pure Solitude on our mountain,” said Kim Mayhew, general manager for Solitude Mountain Resort. “Whether they are seeking the thrill of a downhill mountain bike descent or the relaxation of a scenic chairlift ride, we do summers beautifully up here.”

Lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic rides will be offered from Solitude Village on Sunrise chairlift Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featuring more than 20 miles of tree-lined trails, Solitude has some of the most scenic and accessible single track in Utah, with season passes available for $79, full-day passes for $20 and single ride passes for $10 (children six and under are free with a paying adult). Solitude provides top-of-the-line mountain bike and mountain scooter rentals for full day or two hours from the Powderhorn Adventure Center.

Remembering the 2015 - 2016 Season

With the great weather and multiple/consistent powder days, this year's ski season was arguably one of the best winters in recent memory. Even with a lot of personal changes and large upcoming events (new house, wedding planning) we managed to get up to Solitude every weekend, even managing to fit in a few weekday runs as well. But with all the bluebird days and 13" overnight dumps, I think our favorite memory of the season comes down to one day.

Back in December, Brian brought his friend and colleague, Justin Gomes, up to Solitude for his first day of snowboarding. Justin moved to Salt Lake from from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a year ago. Brian spent the majority of the summer convincing Justin that sliding or skiing was the only way to spend winters in Utah.

The final straw was when Brian gave Justin his old competition board stating, "Now you have no excuse."
